The Tibet Intergroup of the European Parliament and the participants of Europeen Parliamentarian Conference on Tibet called in a resolution on the IOC to let the Tibetan athletes participate in the Olympic Games. Peter Stastny, carrier of the Olympic Order and member of the European Parliament, Dieter Baumann, former gold medal winner, and many others encouraged the Tibetan athletes in their intentions. Pema Yoko, Table-Tennis (UK), Chompel Gelek, Football (Italy) and Dominik Kelsang Erne, Table Tennis (Switzerland) represented the Team.
